God had a perfect plan for humanity. To be precise, He foresees for humanity a truly beautiful future, to forever be with Him after a temporary period in the Garden of Eden. Our ancestors sinned and
ruined God’s plan.
God still loves mankind, so He establishes the redemption. His plan stretches throughout time. Starting from that day till the end of the world is the history of salvation.
Today, the Church wants us to live this history in the liturgical year. From one celebration to another, the liturgy of the Church extends to us the divine plan and mystery of God’s redemption, for
us to receive the blessing God bestows, bring the history of salvation into our heart and life, to be redeemed and to participate in God’s redemptive plan.
The Church begins the liturgical year starting with Advent (waiting for God’s coming: Adventus), which lasts for four weeks. This time is meant to prepare for the Incarnation of the Word of God. In
addition, it also means the anticipation for God’s glorious return on the last day. The Church invites Catholics to use the four weeks of Advent to observe fasting and penance, thus it also means
conversion. This is also a time of listening, of waiting, and of keeping vigil in hope, preparing the soul, awaiting the Lord.
During the four weeks of Advent, the Old Testament readings are quoted from the Book of Prophets. These readings directly relate to the waiting for the Messiah and the announcement of His coming.
Most readings are quoted from the book of the prophet Isaiah. Particularly, the image of a young woman will bring forth a son and name him Emmanuel, which means God is in our midst. But God does not
come just to dwell among us but to redeem us as well.
The Redeemer came as an infant in the womb of the Virgin Mary. That was the final and intimate preparation to bring us into the mystery of the reception of Christ as the evidence of love from
God: For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whosoever believe in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. (John. 3:16)
Apart from the fact that God has come once in history, born as a human being and that He will come later in the future, there is also the fact that He comes in a mystical way in the heart of the
faithful when they receive His Body and Blood in Holy Mass. In other words, each Holy Mass offered on the altar is a Christmas of the infant Jesus.
He came in the flesh to secure His coming in the future. When we prepare ourselves to celebrate Christmas, to give thanks and also to ask for grace, we have the duty to esteem the blessings that He
grants in the hope for a perfect happiness in the future.
In Advent, the Church invites us to become people who have an eager attitude. Ready for God’s visit and enrich our life. The Church also invites us to chasten ourselves to live in a way that pleases
To grow in virtue, to love, to do charity are the works in Advent. We read the Word of God to grow to love God and to love neighbor, then the kingdom of God will not only come, but also spread. The
mystery of the Incarnate Word to redeem the world has already taken place. It will return to us, for salvation to spread even further, like a tide, so that next year, at this same time, the momentum
of the redemption will go even farther. Till the end of the earth. Then, finally, in the horizon, the Lord Jesus Christ appears again, like the light of a halo. He shines glory over the whole of
humanity and the entire universe. He will establish the kingdom of heaven, everlasting joy, to glorify God the Father who has designed such a perfect plan of salvation.

Message for Advent (02 December 2018)
⦁ All three readings today remind us to be vigilant and pray. If not, we will not know how to act when facing a disaster.
⦁ The infant Jesus was born in a manger to come to us. But He desires and yearns to be born in our hearts more.
⦁ The infant Jesus is present in the Body of Christ.
⦁ God the Father grieves to see His only Son, in the cold of winter, in the stable.
b) The First Kowtow: Respectfully offer to God the Father
⦁ The Son of God coming to the world to redeem mankind is a feat from God the Father.
⦁ Most people seek pleasure and enjoyment rather than seeking the infant Jesus. God, please forgive these indifferent and cold people.
⦁ Let everyone acknowledge, be grateful, and praise the Lord.
c) The Second Kowtow: Respectfully offer to the Second Person of God
⦁ Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem is a sign of salvation.
⦁ The infant Jesus came into the world in a humble family with a foster father – Saint Joseph – and a kind Mother – the Virgin Mary.
⦁ This Christmas season, everyone must rise, must mature.
⦁ Humanity forgets to be grateful and thank God.
d) The Third Kowtow: Respectfully offer to the Holy Spirit
⦁ 2,000 years ago, the Church has not yet recognized the Holy Spirit’s grace like today.
⦁ Blessed Mother was Jesus’ first disciple and the first person to receive the Holy Spirit’s grace.
⦁ The Holy Spirit is the source of grace that helps us understand the profound meaning of Advent.
⦁ May the Holy Spirit help humanity be prepared to welcome the infant Jesus.
⦁ May the Holy Spirit help us love God more.
e) The Fourth Kowtow: Respectfully offer to the Body and Blood of
⦁ Jesus was born 2,000 years ago, but also reborn daily in the Blessed Sacrament, to be amid humanity.
⦁ He is still as humble as ever. He dwells in the tabernacle and is waiting for us.
⦁ God waits for each child to return, to take to heaven to live forever with Him.
⦁ The Blessed Sacrament is the presence of the infant Jesus.
f) The Fifth Kowtow: Respectfully offer to the Lord’s Five Holy Signs
⦁ At birth, the infant Jesus accepted the law of mankind.
⦁ For love of humanity, the infant Christ was born into poverty. Let us repent to return to Him.
⦁ Summary of the meaning of The Six Kowtows.
⦁ The Five Holy Signs bring salvation.
g) The Sixth Kowtow: Respectfully offer to Mother Mary
⦁ It is simply from the “Yes” of Mother that humanity enjoys salvation.
⦁ If Mother refused to bear the infant Jesus, then who would do this?
⦁ Mother is the author of five Kowtows. The Holy Spirit wants humanity to respectfully offer The Sixth Kowtow to the Immaculate Heart of Mother Mary.
⦁ From the age of 3, Mother was offered to the Lord in the temple. When Mother was 14 years old, She bore the Lord.
⦁ Mother bore the Lord in hardship and in poverty. Mother gave birth in a manger, did not bemoan or blame, but accepted in trusting love.
⦁ Mother is the only person who brings the light and salvation of God to the world. Consequently, Mother represents mankind to respond to God’s love.
⦁ Where God is, Mother is as well. In the tabernacle is the Eucharist, then Mother is also there to adore.
⦁ Mother teaches us how to come to God and shows us a shortcut to come to Him.
⦁ Mother advises us to watch and pray to know what will happen. Just like Mother lived Her entire life by being vigilant and by praying.
⦁ God comes to deliver us from death.
⦁ Soon crime will spread everywhere. Do not let evil rule us.
⦁ Let us eliminate sin and weakness.
⦁ Let us be prepared to welcome the infant Jesus. Let us receive the Lord worthily to compensate for the indifference and coldness.
h) Mother Maria teaches us to rely on Saint Joseph’s intercession and the entire
⦁ St. Joseph was the foster father of the infant Jesus as well as the foster father of mankind.
⦁ Please pray to God for us.
⦁ May the three archangels protect us.
⦁ May the Holy Spirit help us understand the meaning of Advent.
